Ideas for Innovation!

As we continue to explore the nature of innovation, it is great to consider what current examples of innovation in the field of global health are out there.  Here are three that have made some waves on the Internet recently.

Enjoy!

1) The McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health recently posted on their website about African Innovations, a series of papers devoted to giving examples of global health related innovations found in Africa.  These examples combine new evolutions of technology with traditional African cultures.  Check it out!

2) UNITAID, in partnership with UNICEF, has developed and began distributing in Kenya a new innovative tool for Global Health called the Mother-Baby Pack.  The package contains medicines for pregnant mothers as well as mothers and their newborns designed to protect the children from getting HIV.  The medicine packs are mobile and arguably cost-effective.
